Our Destinations continue with another favourite: Paris.
I have heard people saying how gloomy this city is and how everything looks grey and dark. Probably they haven’t visited Paris in the summer when you can sit by the Seine with a glass of wine, a freshly baked baguette, some fresh butter and cheese and just enjoy life.I thought that my Ruby Red Turkish towel would match the whole scenery perfectly.
I have travelled to Paris during both wintertime and summertime and I have loved and appreciated the city in all its graces. I have walked for miles and miles around Le Marais and I have drunk its Ruby Red wines and dined in the most un-touristic restaurants and this seemed the only way to be able to enjoy Paris again and again. I have visited the museums and spiralled down into the Panthéon crypt and paid my respects to the known and the not so known. And that view from the Montmarte…And that Falafel place…
I visit the Louvre every time I am there. Don’t know why. I think a part of me wants to make sure that the great Masters are still there. Where would they go? Who knows… I just want to know that they are still here amongst us.
To anyone who is planning to visit Paris I will share a little secret that I keep very close to my heart. A magical restaurant hidden in plain view where the excellent coq au vin will make you ask for more. You will be blown away! But do make sure you stay long enough for the cheese platter.
