How to Care for Turkish Towels

Tips to ensure long life and high quality.

Follow these steps and give your Turkish towels the care they deserve. Like any linens, Turkish towels need specific care in order to extend their life.

As soon as you buy a Turkish towel

Before any usage, soak the towel in a bathtub for 12 hours. We always advise our customers to do this process during nighttime so your daily activities won’t be interrupted. This is the most important step you need to take in order to maintain their absorbency.

Wring out as much water possible from the towel

Do not put the towel in the washing machine to spin. Try not to hard-twist the towel in order to get out as much water as possible. Softly wring out as much as possible and then hang to dry. Do not tumble dry.

Results from a Quality Turkish Towel

These instructions involve only the first wash. Using this ancient recommended method means that soaking and air dry will make the towel softer and give the cotton time to expand making your towel super absorbent. The more the cotton expands the more the air will circulate between fibers resulting into quicker dryness, high absorbency, and softness.

Important info about our Turisk Towels

Don’t use bleach nor fabric softeners, not on Turkish Towels. Both are chemicals and will make the towel change its colours and softness. Fabric conditioner may add unwanted coating on the cotton fibres which may result in reduced absorbency. Wash the towels in the washing machine at no more than 30º-40ºC degrees We recommend hanging your towel to dry; it is better for the towel and for the environment. If tumble drying is preferred, remember to use low heat.

I love Turkish Towels and when we decided to refresh our half bathroom I knew I wanted to find some luxury Turkish cotton Towels for that space. I get so many compliments on these. Being a textile lover Turkish Towels and Throws are always a fave of mine. They are great for farmhouse decor, coastal, bohemian and many other decor styles. The packaging is really nice and love that every Towel comes in it’s own bag. These Towels are very large perfect for taking to the beach, for picnics and to be used as a Throw blanket.
